Saw the thread earlier on Little Man. Has anyone tried line breeding on him considering both parents were CNM clear?

Thanks

Yes. I meant a son of Man to a grandaughter of Man, both being clear. He has a nice pedigree, his bitch line was argued to be one of the best in another thread. I believe not only are they all titled, but were all in the top derby points as youngsters? Seems like a nice line to double up on?

I have a Granddaughter of his by AFC Weezer out of CAFC Sara. CNM clear by parentage. She is only a year old, but if all goes well I have thought about breeding back to Man. Or to Great Grandsire "Zipper" if there is some left.

This would be more inbred I guess.

John, I wouldn't consider a grand-daughter back to her grand-sire to be inbreeding. I don't even consider half-brother/half-sister inbreeding. Like others have said in this thread, the most important thing to watch for is that both male and female be tested clear of CNM or clear by parentage.

Thanks for the responses. I've heard some good things about Weezer pups that are coming up. With all the previous threads about line breeding and strong bitch lines, I hoped more would chime in. :?

Little Man

Little Man, in my opinion does have one of the (not saying the) strongest bitch lines out there. Every female in the 3 generation pedigree is a FC-AFC and every female in the pedigree has also thrown an FC. All the dogs (sires and dams) in the 3 generation pedigree has accumulated over 1,000 AA points. That is pretty impressive. Not only have the females been super talented animals, they have all been producers. But, according to gooddoginfo, Man has only thrown 1 titled dog, AFC Weezer. Not sure if anyone has ever tried linebreeding with him, but should be a very interesting litter.

I hear ya on the titled offspring, obviously he isn't bred much anymore from the CNM test discovery. If you look at his dams' side alone, aren't there some producing dogs there now? I believe, RangerXGirly is a line breed on Radar/Scanner?? This breeding has been repeated and produced some quality young dogs I've heard.

Thanks Gooser. My 4year old QAA chocolate is quite a handful too. One speed. WFO! Any one else?

My little dude (19 months) is a Little Man pup - and someday I hope he slows down to WFO  He even moves in his sleep.
He's got desire to burn but being a first time trainer, it's proven to be a lot to handle at times.
I love him to death but if all the Man pups are like the two I see regularly, be prepared for a handful of GO.

On the flip side, he spent the weekend playing playing with my nieces and nephews and cousins (4 to 11 years old) inside my mom's house. Every Sunday we take him to a local coffee house and lays in the floor and takes treats from the kids who come up to pet him.

Thanks for everyone's replies. With over 900 views I had expected some input on the line breeding of this pedigree??? Maybe everyone that viewed just wanted to be the first to say" He has CNM!" like every other thread. Go back to GDG-ing!!!

Jeff,

Maybe alot of people, me included, are just curious to see what others thoughts are on it and are checking back on the thread to see what information is being presented.

Trying to see the best in people,

Thanks Dan. My point was exactly that, lots of viewers but no feedback. Does anybody know anything other than his CNM status and from another thread, that he throws chocolate. For conversation sake, tell us what thoughts and info your hoping to find? Maybe we all can learn something. :D

Thanks

What I was trying to say is that maybe most people do not have any information to share about linebreeding on little man and they are checking back on the thread to see if anyone has experience and what the results were.

I do not breed nor do I profess to know too much about breeding but I was hoping to gain some insight on any linebreed pup. The information I was hoping to find is pretty similar as the information I try and fine out about any litter, or about any stud or dam that I am looking at a litter of. I am a bit more interested in this thread or any linebreeding thread as I have always been curious about linebreed pups. Like you, I am hoping to learn a bit...

I am hoping to find information if a line breeding has been done, if so what traits were they hoping to double up on, was it successful etc, as well as the standard info such as what characteristics do the pups have, were there any health issues, are any of these pups with a pro or "A" list amateurs, what do they think of the pups, , how are they or how did they advance in the yard, what is their training attitude like, water attitude, etc, marking ability, etc...

We are training a little man line breeding!
(At least we were told that.) I haven't entered her into Good Dog yet or looked at the pedigree however.
She is doing pretty good and we like her alot. She is passing HRC seasoned events and getting close to Senior Hunter level.
