There are 3 reasons to accept a judging assignment.
1. Good grounds
2. Good food
3. Good co-judge

Judging is actually enjoyable if you have all 3.

I've heard the White Knight's ranch was nice, but had never been there. Some of the nicer grounds i've been on and it's HUGE. You could put on two nationals at the same time. Some of the better terrain in this part of Texas for sure.

They did BBQ and judge's dinner and blah blah blah, but Jerry Lou's potato salad could be it's own food group. It was by far the best ever and everyone was talking about it.

The two best things ever are Karen Kemp's chicken salad and Jerry Lou Matter's potato salad.

It also helped my weekend that the Boogie puppy and Aaron got 2nd in the derby. To bad they did that 5th series... the DGHD got him and knocked him down a notch. (derby gun hook of death). Verdell's little puppy was right there with him and did the same thing in the 5th.

Oh i left out the good co-judge part. Tony Despenas is a helluva good guy and a fair judge. I learn something new every time i judge and Tony taught me to never drop your stake chairman/marshal before the last series. :D
