Hey! I am Ponce's wife... I am looking for a place where I can buy a Yorkie. Looking for a reasonable price. Speaking of which, do any of you guys know what "reasonable price" for those pups is? Is there something I need to be aware of? I just want a small lap dog (no poodles) that gets along with our three labs. I just need some company while my husband goes to field trials! Ideas anyone?
Thanks in advance!

I can hook you up with a very nice little 10 week old papillon. my wife still has 2 males left out of her litter of 4. they get along great with our labs and are very good watch dogs. although i am in iowa and i don't think these guys can handle being shipped. they are really cool little dogs though, you ought to check them out.

I don't particularily know of any breeders around here that are "good" however, you might find some on www.puppyfind.com. or you can do a google search. Just a thought............

My daughter in college just bought a Yorkie about 6 months back from a breeder in PA near Penn State.
She was able to get a smaller than normal, 4 pounds, female from the breeder for $1500.00. Because the pup was small the breeder didn't keep her because he didn't want to risk breeding her.

The pups name is Cosmo and is a very friendly and sweet puppy. Not at all yippy or noisy. Just a cute little pup............... :)

Since you asked about things you should be aware of.
I have 2 family members who between them have 4 yorkies. While they are wonderful pets/family members.
There are health issues that you should be aware of. They have problems with hypoglycemia, liver problems, heart problems and severe tooth decay problems. My family members have had to deal with all of these problems in their yorkies.
Look for people that have bought from a breeder before and be mainly concerned about health issues more than the cost of the dog.
While we will spend more money on keeping our pets healthy than we do on keeping ourselves healthy. There is still the question of quality of life and life expectancy due to health issues.
Don't mean to scare you, just want you to make an informed decision.
MAIN THING--All these dogs have brought great joy to my family.
