Almost four weeks out from the surgery to repair a luxating patella. They slightly deepened the groove and tightened a tendon on one side. Vet seems pleased. Just wondering where others dogs were at week four. Mine still favors that leg quite a bit. She will put weight on it at times and walk. But also holds it up quite a bit.

I had a luxating patella repair done on a toy dog. I did have one cold lazer treatment. She found it faster to run around on 3 legs so she didn't use the leg for I would say about 2 months and then she forgot about it when she was playing and was fine. She also held hers up. I was also warned by the vet she might do that.

I had both done on my lab, at 6 weeks he was putting decent weight on it and walking. Make sure you do the PT to the T. PT will make the recovery much faster and with less long term issues. Good luck.
