We were having a bit of fun talking about this story ytdy when I was out throwing for some friends...

A guy goes out for a run by himself this weekend along well-used trails in a large wooded County Park. Doesn't return home. Massive search with tons of volunteers, dogs, etc is started. Car found at trailhead but no sign of the guy. He shows up 3 days later. Says he fell into a ravine, lost consciousness, and 3 days later, walks to the trailhead (his car has by now been towed), and walks home.

What do you guys think? (btw, he's 47 yrs old and married..)

Here's today's update of the story if you want to read about this miraculous recovery!! ..

He's so full of crap. Major head injury lasting three days and then he just wakes up a hikes nine miles. I wonder what his or her name was that gave him a ride home.

I never tried that excuse before...wonder if it worked???

About that same time I was in the mountains of Tennessee with my K9 search dog team searching for an elderly Alzhiemers patient that left her car and began walking. She wasn't found until 5 days later. The outcome was not the same. Shame on him if he faked it.

It is what we call in the SAR world a bastard search. As in that d*** bastard. We had one here in the Shenanadoah National Park about two months ago. He ended up at his "sister's" in W Va. Yeah, right.

Reminds me of the guy from Ponca City Oklahoma that said while out hunting two guys showed up in the woods and robbed him of all his cash....when I read that in the paper I thought it was bs...come to find out he went to a local strip joint named Sadie's and girls proceeded to relieve him of all his money...rather than have the balls to face the wife he got the law enforcement and the local media involved.
