We have Maryland Retriever Club's website up and running. Let me know what you think. For the members of the club, please send me some of your favorite doggy pics so we can post them in the photo gallery or on other pages on the site. We were pretty limited to some of the pictures I have taken

A number of our members have gone on to develop Amateur Field Champions (AFC), Field Champions (FC), and Master Hunting Champions (MH).
Ummmmm, "Master Hunting Champions"????? MH=Master Hunter :)

Many of our members initially join the club due to their interest in hunting and go on to develop an interest in field trials and hunt test competitions.
I know that this will probably cause some "discussion" but hunt tests are not "competitions". Well....wait a minute. I just looked up "competitions" and found this:
com·pe·ti·tion (kŏm'pĭ-tĭsh'ən) Pronunciation Key
n.
The act of competing, as for profit or a prize; rivalry.
A test of skill or ability; a contest: a skating competition.

Ok...a test of skill or ability......guess hunt tests are competitions!!! :)

Nit-picking regards,

Sorry Ms Sensible Moderator I don't buy it.

The online dictionary I use:
http://www.wordreference.com/definition/competition

Has it:
competition
A noun
1 competition, contention, rivalry

the act of competing as for profit or a prize; "the teams were in fierce contention for first place"

2 contest, competition

an occasion on which a winner is selected from among two or more contestants

3 rival, challenger, competitor, competition, contender

the contestant you hope to defeat; "he had respect for his rivals"; "he wanted to know what the competition was doing"

4 competition

a business relation in which two parties compete to gain customers; "business competition can be fiendish at times

None of them say meet a standard.
