If you are talking about "anxious" in the sense of thunderstorms or fireworks - yes, the vet can prescribe a medication for that.

Any kind of suppressant for a dog is dangerous and should only be used in extreme cases.

I have to agree 100% with Miriam. Treadmills make a great alternative for excercise (both dog and owner ;) ) if you cannot go outside to run. Dogs do not multitask well, so giving the dog a job, such as treadmill work, or carrying a backpack keep him busy, not allowing the dog to be anxious.

I just read on MSN.com last week that Prozac has been approved for veterinary use for separation anxiety. Contact your vet or google it.
