After a few hours of formal, fancy moderated, discussion... the "powers that be" of the Metro Alliance Retriever Club have decided that the possibility of a Margirita machine this weekend is not completely out of the question.

The votes are tied amongst club members and we are leaving it up to THE PEOPLE OF THE RETRIEVER WORLD to decide. Please make your vote and help preserve the history of the Rita Machine at Metro Trial.

Sorry Shayne. I'm not much of a drinker and I don't like to be around people who are overindulging. I'd prefer to be at a trial with less chance of people drinking to much. Just give me a cold Bud after I've thrown the last bird of the day and that's just about right for me.

Got to go with Howard. Don't think that it is a good idea anyway. What would the club's liability if someone overindulges and then gets in an accident or something. Don't get me wrong, I'd love to have one but don't think it something that should be club sponsored.

Wasn't Texas one of the 1st States to pass Dram Shop Liability laws which hold alcohol servers responsible for harm that intoxicated or underage patrons cause to other people (or, in some cases, to themselves)?

I would be concerned about the liability aspect if I was a club officer.

I know that some persons who don't drink have a big problem with spending club $$ on alcohol.

On the other hand, if certain individuals wanted to do this on an ad hoc basis back at the host hotel.... :wink:
