I heard on the news this morning of a new technique for neutering pets. The procedure is currently under review and involves an injection directly into the animal's testicles. The ingredient kills sperm and blocks tubes which carry ejaculate material.

I fully believe that the AR zealots will get bottles of this stuff and go out on "neighborhood watch". If you breed dogs, keep your males very close.

Right, some stranger is going to grab my chessie by the nuts and stick a needle in him. I have a feeling that even if it were one of my labs, the perp would lose an arm!

To me, this sounds as much like a vasectomy as a neutering. It sounds simple and should be cheaper than surgery but are the effects on a dog's sexual behaviour as complete as they are with a surgical neutering? I'm as/more interested in the behaviour modification that comes with neutering than I am with the contraceptive benefits.
