I had a Baikal and liked it a lot. It wasn't the prettiest gun (a friend asked if the stock was made in the high shool wood shop), but it shot great. It had a selective trigger and ejectors and I liked the balance. It was the first gun I ever shot a perfect round of skeet with.
When my Ameircan Water Spaniel bought me a Red Label for Father's Day, I sold the Baikal.

I think only two positives and about umpteen negatives. If you've got one that hasn't gone sour yet, consider yourself lucky. Maybe you should get rid of it before it does. Been there, done that. Two thumbs down from this guy.

I won a huglu o/u kicked like a mule did a few thinks to it limb saver pad gun smith put some recoil reduction thing in side the stock would not sell for anything never has it gave me any trouble and i shoot it alot

a few months back Gander Mountain was running a sale on Browning Synergy Camo 3 1/2" synthetics. I have one and love it for hunting. Stock comes with shims for length and has an adjustable comb. Fit me fine in stock configuration but I am close to std dimensions. Adjustable is nice. I do have my SBE2 for 3 1/2" loads though LOL Like someone said, just cause u can doesn't mean you should!

Surprised no one has mentioned the SKB Model 505. A real quality O/U at a fair price. Good used ones around too.

I agree with the others. If it's cheap there's a reason.

I would suggest the Winchester 101, the new one. Cabelas had it on sale for $999.

SKB sells guns for a reasonable price. Even Beretta has reasonable prices for their lowest models.

I would say that any of the above are 2-3 times better than the Baikal.

There are good prices on used guns, but most have fixed chokes. I think for a couple hundred dollars more you'd appreciate the new gun with choke tubes.

This pretty much mirrors what I would say. Check out CDNN Investments. you can usually find some pretty nice O/U shotguns on there at reasonable prices. They were also running the New Winchester 101 at $999 recently. I love a nice O/U but the 101 for the price above is hard to beat for a new shotgun of that quality.
