Old Trainers

I am one of a relatively large group of old trainers that visit here regularly. Recent a "warning shot" was fired
over my bow. After the pacemaker "installation", I realized that I better get my act together and train the trainer.
Therefore, the residence that we built many years ago was modified a bit by drastically reducing dog hunting
and training equipment so as to make it into a human workout and exercise area. Today was the grand opening.

But where are the dogs? I can not imagine my (imminent) Senior years without them. I think or hope I get more beneficial exercise out walking the fields with them vs equipment. But it looks like a great set-up!
Very nice set up. The walls and flooring are really nice. It really is a complete set up....do you have a steam room? If not, you need one...I think!

I wish you continued good health and good luck with your workouts.

I too am moving towards setting up a better workout area for myself and my wife. I tried to figure out some of the brand names of the equipment you purchased, that I still am looking for. As I would like to check them out.

On the Recumbent bike I think the brand is Snade? On the Total Trainer, I cannot make out the brand on that in the picture. Would you mind posting that only line or emailing me at [email protected]?

What was the reason you choose this particular brands?
Gigi has a Vet appointment shortly and it is an hour drive. The exercise equipment was purchased
using "Facebook". Prices are much better and the equipment is often "like new".

I'll post brand names later today...if you still want them.

UPDATE: Snode Recumbent Bike Rig 16. I like this one....sitting and exercising.

Yep...let me know the brands on the recumbent and Total Trainer that is all I have left to get...
In the physical therapy area of our hospital there is a number of exercise machines of various sorts. If you are a patient its free to use them, if you have some medicare-related supplementary insurace with silver sneakers, they pay, and otherwise its free. The local high school also permits public use. There's a pretty regular group of us old farts that use the hospital facilities in the mornings making for a bit of a social as well as physical respite. And all that gear is not in my house so I can use the space for other things. We do have a couple of ellipticals and some weights in the house, but that's enough for me.

The last couple of hunt tests it was so hot, I spent most of my time sitting in front of
a fan, drinking a lot of water or standing behind a van door to take a "pee"......often.

Get you some 20" bi's Jim. You make that big iron clang!

I have no idea what that means.
A tape measure wrapped around the area upper arm (bicep) will yield a measurement. I am rooting for your bicep measurement to soon stretch that measuring tape to 20 inches!
I did an Internet search for what is the meaning of "make that iron dang".
It did not match with any results. What is the keyword? :geek:

Search Suggestions:
  • Make sure all words are spelled correctly
  • Try different keywords
  • Try more general keywords
  • Try fewer keywords

This dredged up a recent incident in the doctor's office. His nurse took the blood pressure device
out and began to wrap it around my bicep and said, "You have tiny arms."

I did not want to make "a scene" so I did not respond....as she reached over and attached a child sized
device that fit.

In reply to this post, I just measured my bicep. I guess she was right... close to 15 inches.

Not going to happen. (n)

note: My name is Jim.....that's close to tiny "Tim". :D

Me nodding in agreement as I step around the dust covered rowing machine in my basement
Jim, 15 inches around the upper arm would be average for a strapping young man! You are a formidable force to be reckoned with.

Keep up the good work and you'll be killing those geese again and again. I tell you what else us old guys are gonna do, we are gonna make bird throwers out of our Visiting Angels!¹
