I just found out that my Cropper female's dam is still alive at 16.5 years old. I was amazed to know that. My female is 8.5 now so maybe I will get plenty more years with her. I think Cropper lived to be 13 or 14. How old is/ was your oldest lab ever? I guess everybody can post goldens or whatever elso too. Not prejudice. Paul

So far the oldest I've had was a chesapeake female that lived to be just over 14. My son has a blf that is alittle over 14 now, I remember her when she was a pup and now she has white booties and a lot of white on her face. Time sure flies with the aging on a dog.

Not mine, but I was the agent for a rental on a neighbor's farm to a couple with a 17 year old BLF last year. She was deaf, but looked amazingly good. Just saw them around Christmas and they still have her. They said they have to help her up and down the steps now (they live in an apt. over a barn) but otherwise she's doing fine.

The first Lab we had Cindy (short for "Cinders") out of Stormy of Spirit Lake Gal lived to 15 years -- got her just before my 12th birthday and she was put down just before my 27th birthday -- my first FT dog Pat out of Totem lived to be 14 years old despite being hit by a car and being crippled in the rear end for the last 3 or 4 years of his life (my parents who "adopted" him taught him how to walk again) -- finally Tammy my YLF out of Josh lived to be 13 year old -- still happy up to the end living a nice retirement after 3 litters

old gal has fling.........

:D My oldest Lab is 14. Last year she had her a "fling" with one of my young handsome males. She had one very spoiled pup. What amazed me was she had had NO SEASONS in over 5 years. I did not even guess she was expecting but it sure was a surprise to hear a pup mewing in her kennel. The pup is a year old now and is the apple of my wife's eye........

CAN'T TRUST THEM OLD GALS.......LOL

My oldest dog was a mix and lived 16 years. My Chocolate boy Gunner his Sire will be 14 this week and still going strong, his dam side the grand sire 16 and several of his littermates where between 13 and 16, the grand dam was 14 and her owner is taking one of my chocolate girl pups. So I am hoping all this long Gevity is passed on to my chocolate boy and his pups he has sired.

Many years ago my mother had a 13 yo dachshund that was left in a kennel while my parents were on vacation. Two months later my parents moved to a new city and were staying in a hotel until their apartment was ready. The dog was acting strangely and my mother took her up to their room. A little later we went up and found my mother on the bed with the dog who was having heavy contractions. After 10 hours she gave birth to a single puppy who appeared to be a cross with a standard poodle -- someone at the kennel must have thought it would be a fun joke! My mother named the dog Isaac (Itsy) since in the Bible Sarah gave birth to Isaac at the age of 72. The mother ultimately lived to the age of 17.
