Yeah a great part of my income is from playing poker. I bought my dog's e-collar with one hour's winnings  .

Since it's hard to collect winnings now, I play more real games than I used to, but they're more fun anyway. You can also get around the law and get a friend from Canada to withdrawl for you and mail the check...hehe jk.

Anyone else on here play online. I am addicted to Full Tilt :)
I'm Fig on FullTilt (was one of their beta testers) and TxFig on several others.

I don't play online that often; I prefer live play.

Jerry, there are now other payment methods available to US residents. You didn't really thing GW was going to be able to stop the millions of people who play online, did you?

Have you found that you get more SPAM since using one of the online poker sites?

Vicky
I can't remember getting ANY spam that I could attribute to a Poker site. They keep them pretty "clean".

Their primary interest is getting folks to play for real money and they rake some off the pots, just like any other Casino. Except you can play at these "casinos" in your underwear. :D :D

Ya know, I tolerated football, strip joints, race cars, etc, here. This goes too far. I dont want computer gambling on my forum. I like dogs. Thats why I'm here. Go somewhere else with that.

I understand a lot of people haven't figured out this internet thing. So, let me help. When a thread title says
"Online Poker-GDG"
and you are moronically opposed to such topics, then don't read them. Just skip it so you can go back to playing with your Barbi.....

Sorry I offended you guys so. My reference to"my" forum just meant I have finally found one that I can read and interact with on a regular basis. I was dissapointed to lose two others I signed on with, the Working Ret. and the Retriever Journal boards, both fell apart completely because of spam and tons of gdg stuff. Anyways, I just wont click on anything in future that doesnt directly reference dog stuff.
sick of spam regards

Very, very little.

I have my own domain name at godaddy.com and use the free email forwarding service. One of the email forwarders is a "catch all".

This allows me to make up an email address "on the fly". When I first signed up with the poker sites, I used things like "[email protected]". It's a legitimate address (which works for registrations, etc), but it also allows me to see if any of these places are generating spam.

Thus far, I have gotten ZERO spam from fulltilt (other than the monthly messages from them, but I can opt-out of even that if I wanted to).

what the new payment options to get around the US restrictions? I pulled all my winnings out the day before GW's law went into effect and haven't had the time to go back and sign up again yet. I was playing quite a bit at Party Poker. I knew they'd find a way around it, just haven't kept up. Do tell!

Thanks!

It has caused some problems to be sure - especially with Netteller getting shutdown to US players.

But pretty much all of the bigger, more stable online sites (Pokerstars, Party Poker, Full Tilt) have quickly come up with alternative methods of getting money in and out. ePassport is one that I see most common.
