Do some dogs "pant" harder & longer than others? My 2 yr YLF seems to pant long & hard after a workout of maybe 15 minutes, doing marks, blinds & simply running around for some exercise. It is probably my imagination, but concerns me some. I will take her to the Vet for a check...otherwise acts very healthy & happy. Her heavy panting may last fifteen minutes....has been on heartworm from day one.

I think "dogs are dogs." I've had some that pant for no apparent reason.

I read somewhere ( I think) that dogs normally pant for 20 minutes after exercise. So you're good by 5 minutes...

Just shows you're a good owner for worrying.

My two labs can run around and play for the same amount of time.....one will pant hard for quite some time and the other doesn't pant at all. Each one is different.
