One of the things I always enjoy is the photos posted here. I'll show you mine if you show me yours...and I'll go first!

Quail hunting in Baja California (Mexico)

In the field...

...and a successful morning!

Waterfowl in Montana...

And waterfowl in "Sort of Southern California"...

...including the results of a one-hour shoot that also gave us the first Canada goose we've gotten in California!

My day started out a litte slow, but I really knew I had a good spot. Their was fresh sign so I figured it was just a matter of time…

It wasn’t long before my luck turned and I nailed a spicy striper…

Unfortunately stripers don’t have a lot of meat on them…

But there are some great recipes for them….

The game shooting season finished on Feb 1, still a bit of coastal wildfowling time left but I need a cure for frozen hands.

The season was a bit mixed for me, I didn't get much shooting done, but put in a lot of dog work. When I did shoot it was as a graduate of the Stevie Wonder Shooting School! Must get some clays in.

Lab "Ross" was operated on to remove a load of plastic from his tummy (more about that after the court case!) but recovered remarkably well and got a few days in at the end. BLM "Jacko" surprised me by just how well he did. I managed 39 days afield; combined with my two days a week in the gym I'm the fittest I've been in 20 years.

The final day was just a knock about with fellow beaters, pickers up and 'keepers from the local estate.

And here is me i/c game cart snatching a quick coffee at days end. If you think I look tired, I am. I carried most of those b****y birds (180 ish) up some very steep Welsh hills.

That's it from me for a bit...I'm extending the cottage and Management says I have no time for anything else until I'm done. We'll see...pigeon roosting? Bit of rabbiting with the Springer?

Regards
Eug
