Just brought my 2 year old lab home from surgery to repair a luxating patella. Dr. was very pleased with outcome. Less wear on the knee cartilage than she expected. Question about diet. Vet said the dog might not crap for a couple of days following the surgery. Does anyone's experience with post op care suggest any kind of dietary supplement to help with bowl movement???? If she appears constipated, I would like to be able to help her.

Thanks

A tablespoon of canned pumpkin on her food, twice a day. Not pumkin pie mix, pure canned pumpkin.
However, when any of my dogs have had surgeries, I've usually found they have the opposite issue. Probably from the drugs/stress. I automatically give them bland food for a couple of days afterwards (boiled chicken/beef and rice).
