I find myself in a little bit of predicament. With the help of this site I have trained up a nice 4 year old female black lab. She is on the small side at around 50 pounds. More of a pheasant dog than a duck dog (just because that’s what I mainly hunt). I did run her in a finished HRC hunt test and she did well except broke on final water retrieve. I just wanted to see if she could do it. I have trained multiple dogs through out the years. I will get to the point. She is house broke and my buddy. looks like I will be going out of the country on an assignment In June for 5 months, possibly longer. (Bible based assignment). If it goes longer than that, I think it’s only fair to put her in a home where she can hunt and be around a family. (She loves kids). I would not put her in a place where she is in a kennel. I would be asking a fair price for her. She is spayed and would be able to compete or hunt. She can track a pheasant on a trail at full speed. I can stop her on a whistle but I do run her on a collar when hunting. Just contemplating what might be cong up in the near future.

I know a couple folk who put dogs with trusted retriever club friends when deployed.
Dogs had a fun foster home vacation. Kept training. And totally remembered the owner when returning.
An option?
I have a buddy that has placed his dogs with 2 different pro's each time he's been deployed and each of the pros discounted the rate for him. Not sure this is an option for you.
