Been trying to find a good place to train in the North East Metro. I dont have any big parks near my house for using 22 blanks or my Retriever dummy. I have been out with my 4 1/2 month with my retiever trainer dummy and he goes nuts but the parks in my neighborhood are not big enough nor are they far enough from the houses for noise complaints. just trying to find something out of the city a little bit Any Suggestions near the Forest Lake Area, Lino Lakes, White Bear Lake areas?

I know there is a retriever club in Hugo but I am looking for a place to go for my everyday training.

Thanks FPA

There isn't too many options in that area (really anywhere close to the Twin Cities), perhaps look into heading to the Marine on the Saint Croix area, you may find a willing landowner, or perhaps you could find some spot along the Saint Croix to train.

Short of that there is alot of public land in the Hinckley area (not too far away) a guy could easily run up there for training on the weekends.

Best of luck.

Kelly Farms is a great place to train, is costs money, but lots of room! Carlos Avery is right in FL back yard, thousands of acres there. I grew up in FL there are lots of places, sometimes you just have to ask. I find myself rubber necking at alot of pastures while driving around. You can call me, I have a few places that I use in Scandia too that are private.

I made several phone calls and tough to find anything. I called the DNR for Carlos Avery but doesnt allow it because there is a MN law that doesnt allow dogs to be off leash April 16th- July 14th in WMA's. I might have to start knocking on doors to find some private land...
