My friend Dustin just was sent overseas for a deployment. Hes a first time dog trainer, I am watching/training his dog while hes gone. He wanted me to send him some things to keep him busy. Hes into retriever training, hunting, off roading jeeps. If anybody has any video or books or magazines they would like to donate I am putting together a care package for him. Or I could give you his address and you could send your own package, that would be awesome. I really appreciate your support and I'm sure he would too. Thanks!

send me his address and I will get him something together. I figured this post would get few if any responses. God forbid some of the successful dog trainers / kennel owners etc on this site could take just a minute to realize why they are able to walk out their back door and train everyday. Its because great americans are willing to deploy, leave friends and family to keep the fight over in foreign lands, oh wait a minute, i forgot, GDG posts are where its at.....

Hopefully bumping this back to the top might roust some of the vets on this site...

Please do not post his address for the world to see. That could potentially violate operational security for our boys and girls foward deployed. If you pass on his address do so in a PM.
Very Respectfully,
SSgt Hass, J USMC...currently forward deployed.

I always find it funny how people have to beg for support and patriotism. There should have been more responses to this post than he could have wanted. I guess the problem is that most of the true patriots are already overseas and don’t have time to check RTF while they are being shot at. Unfortunately, all I have to give is support. I am also surprised at the extremely low number of responses to this. God bless your friend and may he return home safe.

These posts are really productive. You have no idea what people that visit this site have done or are doing. it's not like a bunch of people have an extra copy of total retriever training laying around, those that have stuff they want to donate will, leave it at that.

I meant no disrespect in the sense that things were not being donated. I was talking about taking the 2 seconds to type a support message. Just sending a "good luck and Godspeed" message is helpful and is all to often overlooked. That is all I was trying to convey.

maybe you should find out how many people just sent a PM to the OP before you pass judgement.

Achiro, no one asked you for your opinion...not surprising that your sour attitude would roll over into this post as it has many others...trt comment was silly, ;-)you know that's not what was intended...
My sour attitude? You're the one ripping all the "successful" folks on this site without having any clue what you are talking about. As I said before, you have no idea what people have already done or are doing. Please dust the rafters before you come down off of that high horse, it gets pretty dirty up there.

KIDS, before you go getting all high and mighty. Be thankful there are are those who DO. And those who do for them.

Thank those who have and are sacraficing(sp) for you/us.
They ask for nothing, they have a job and commitment,to you and their country. Thank them however, but thank them.

LET"S NOT GET IN A PISSING MATCH OVER THIS.

Do what you can and give thanks.
God bless to all and if you have a dog in the fight,God bless them and you.

How dare you, you pompous, bitter person whoever you are. There was a post a while back with a very similar subject and I assumed this was a thank you response to that post and only just happened by chance to open this thread up to look to it.

You had better back off and not judge people here. Achiro with a sour attitude? Yeah right.

I don't have much to donate except some past editions of Retriever News and would be happy to bundle them up and send them if someone wants to PM me the address.

I swear, this place is a friggin' freak parade lately.

No judgment passed. I was in no way saying anything negative about this forum or the people on it. I was more commenting on people in general. I spent 6 years in the army and while i did not deploy I am still proud of my service. It has been my experience that when the topic of supporting the troops comes up most people would say they do. I was only commenting on the fact that on all the forums and in the rally's that I have attended it seems that while most people in their hearts support our troops a large number of people seem to be scared to say that or to show it. Not really sure why that is? I make it a point to extend my hand to every vet I see wearing a combat hat, patch, coat, and I am always the person who no matter where I am and in whatever company i will voice my opinion about it. I love this country and I love our Troops for what they do. I'm sure that is a sentiment shared by the majority of people on this forum and my only hope was to light a fire and get some "come home safe" posts rollin.

Calm down everyone, take a breath! lol I have gotten a few PMs and I am very appreciative. Sorry I havent responded sooner, work has been crazy. I think I responded to all the PMs with his address. I will not post it up in open chat due to opsec. Once again thank you! I'm sure he will appreciate it and maybe even convert a few soldiers to dog trainers and duck hunters over there.

Thanks,
Ryan
