My good friend Russ Lain left the Gunzer training group at the Fuller ranch in Texas last Saturday, headed for California to have back surgery. Sunday night, 50 miles east of El Paso, one of the trailer brakes on his Airstream apparently seized, throwing the trailer in a skid, and he flipped both the trailer and his truck, totalling both. Fortunately Russ was unhurt except for a bump on his head, which was not serious. His yellow lab, Ice, who made the derby list and is now running qual, stayed here with Karl and Rob and was not in the accident.

I talked to Russ tonight. He is continuing to CA with all his personal property in a U-Haul truck. He is off the internet for now, but I can forward messages to him by phone.

Hey Steve, please tell Russ that we are happy to hear that he was not
seriously hurt. Also glad to hear that Ice was not involved. Tell him to get home safely, have his surgery and that we will see him in Montana soon. We are leaving next Wednesday heading for Ronan. Our house is /or will be by then/ completed and I'm looking forward to joining the group for training. I'm itching to see my boy Chip and to get back to work with Gyro who has been off with an abcess in his foot.

Hope that you are doing well and that we'll see you this summer.

Steve it is good to know you are doing well. Please tell Russ that I am so happy that he came throught the accident in relatively good shape. If he is going to UC San Fran Med Center I am sure he is in good hands. I worked there for almost 40 years. I will say prays that the surgery goes well and I will see him this summer in Ronana. I will have my trailer at Eric's training grounds Valhalla. I am sorry that all this has happened. God Bless. Marie (Annette)

Good Friend!!!

Steve,
Please let Russ know that we are thinking about him and wish him a "safe trip" to CA for the surgery. I am sending you a pm for him, too.
Thank you for letting us know about his accident.
