A far cry from the supposedly 22-27 players as reported when this story first broke.

Only Vilma and Smith are still with the team and the Saints signed Vilma's replacement during Free Agency with Curtis Lofton.

From he ESPN site;
The league clearly didn't feel it had enough specific evidence to punish a multitude of players for what they actually did on the field.

Next will be the appeals and suit by the NFLPA.
Statement from the NFLPA;

After seeing the NFL's decision letters, the NFLPA has still not received any detailed or specific evidence from the league of these specific players' involvement in an alleged pay-to-injure program. We have made it clear that punishment without evidence is not fair. We have spoken with our players and their representatives and we will vigorously protect and pursue all options on their behalf."

We are still going to kick ass anyway and show the NFL
What you said. It's going to be awfully embarrassing for those teams that get 50 points hung on them by a team with no head coach and suspended players.

In other NFL news, Junior Seau commits suicide. wow
Junior was my friend, I met him during his rookie year in San Diego when he was the Chargers 1st round draft pick. I was managing a night club in Mission Beach and he actually saved my hide one night when a fight broke out, some guy had a dead bead on me from the blindside, and Junior stopped him in his tracks with a perfectly timed forearm...once I was having breakfast at a beach side diner and while reading the sports page I commented to a friend how I wished Junior would end his holdout and sign his contract, out of nowhere this big Samoan hand rests on my shoulder and says, "...relax,I will sign when they pay me..." my heart goes out to his former wife and his kids, his mom and family...RIP Junior , I will miss you...

Agreed, RIP Junior. There are and will be other great football players, but they can only match him not exceed him.

Junior's passing is a big deal here. One of the local stations suspended regular programming for three hours yesterday to cover reaction to his death. Hundreds of people were in front of his restaurant at 5 am this morning in mourning. He was a local boy that did well and was very well liked by everyone that dealt with him.

If they have have public services, they will probably have to hold them in Qualcomm Stadium.
