I am selling pups, and the question I have is: I am getting a guy asking me for two of my pups, and he is only emailing me. It could be harmless, but I want to know if anyone else has heard of this guy.

He is trying to pay with a money order
He (I think) wants to write the money order for $1500 over and have me give him change... (There is no way I will accept a money order for more than the pups)
It seems just wierd, I want to know if anyone has ever expirienced anything like this before.

Fred Quimby is his name
He is from Edmonton Canada....

Thanks,
Steve

You've got it right probably. There's no way I would accept a M.O. for more than the correct amount and pay the balance in cash to him.

This is a scam. The way it works is they send you the cashier check for over the amount and have you wire them the overage or send it to their "shipper". The check is a fake but it takes 2 weeks for the bank to find out and they come after YOU for the money, by then he's long gone. I like to scam them back and get their fake check to turn over to the local authorities but they are always out of the country so there isn;t anything you can do except waste their time and money (the fakes are quite realisitic looking). And I would not do this unless you have a PO box, even though chances are slim they'd actually come to your home remember they are CRIMINALS.

Other tip offs it's a scam...a sense of urgency to the transaction...they want you to wire them the difference ASAP. They don't ask any questions or the 'right' questions about your puppies....and of course cashier check.

It's a scam.... and a fairly well-known one.

Get a real address for him, then turn him over to the police in his location.

Get as much information from the guy and then turn the info over to your local police. One of the only ways this gets cleared up is to be turned in!!
Just don't "let it go"
