My yellow lab has black skin; my black lab has pink skin. Yellow lab has thick, double coat; black lab has sleeker, seemingly single coat. Yellow lab is trying to be a black dog (he has a black spot :)); black dog's dad is yellow. Just wondering about her pink skin, and why it never turned black....?

my black lab had blue skin when he was younger. haven't really looked lately but I believe it's more of a white.

I wondered about the skin color, too. I assumed the light skin was more common and the black skin unusual.

I have two yellow labs, one has a beautiful thick coat, light skin under the fur and black toe nails. The other has a thin coat with dark skin pigment especially on her belly. Both wear heavy black eye liner and lipstick.

The one with the dark skin has a darker coat than the other.
