National weather service says 18-24" in the next 24 hours with a similar storm expected Monday. Anyone want to swap a southern home for a place in the Denver foothills? Just when my horse was finding some green grass to eat, too.

Tulsa Oklahoma just finished our warmest March on record and I am afraid soon to be followed by the coldest April on record
Here in San Antonio, I guess we will just have to settle for the fact that March was the wettest March on record. Every pond is now overflowing after months of drought. But don't get comfortable. It will change to something else tomorrow.

MooseGooser,
Trade ya. At least you people "on the flats" have some trees budding out. I am still scraping frost off the windows every day.

As far as the rain in San Antonio, I'd gladly trade my winter coat for a poncho at this time of year. Boy listening to myself, I'm sounding like an old person.

The snow and sleet have started here. Last Thursday we got 18 inches of wet snow - this storm is only forecast for up to 8 inches. Then Sunday/Monday is suppose to be a huge storm but that one should be rain with very strong winds. Where all the water is going to go is a mystery to me.

Mud season here we come regards,

Andy

Here in South Mississippi we refer to that stuff yawl call snow as GRITS. I cannot remember the last time I saw snow and the next time I do I will roll over and go back to sleep "til it's gone! I have enough fat to keep warm, but I want to put it to better use for something else. I just don't care for the cold. 65 degrees suits me just fine--dogs work well, the grass doesn't grow as fast and I can wear the same shirt twice before Cleo tell me to change it or sit down wind of her.

Listening to all the complaints reminds me of the saying--"Yankees are like hemoroids, they come down, but they won't go back. (Some more than others) :D :D :D Bill

Snow-Yuccck

Left Quitman, Georgia last Monday. Temp was 85 degrees. Easy day for the dogs...one last happy swim, then the 1400 mile drive home.

Got home Wednesday afternoon...snowed 16" Wed. night. Shoveled my way out and drove all day Thuirsday to p/u a litter of 6 week old puppies and drop off client dogs.

Took the better part of four days to shovel/chip/scrape out 16 runs with a winter accumulation of hard pack snow/ice that was at least 5' high.

Broke my all time favorite kennel run snow shovel.

Purchased a replacement krss for $40.00 (ouch).

Snowed another 8" yesterday.

Shoveled out runs most of the day.

The dogs have not said one nice thing to me since we've been home.

Hoping for heavy rain and high wind regards on Monday.

update: Stupid over-reacting weathermen scared our "International" Airport into cancelling flights!! Friends had to rent a car to drive to Texas. They had to be in Galveston by nightfall tonight (Friday) they got a call from United yesterday at 3pm cancelling their flight for this morning a 10am (Friday) so, they rented a car and drove thru....called them at 1pm today - they were just outside Houston...drove thru snow storm, blizzard, hail storm, rain storm!! All this and we woke up this morning - to NO SNOW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The foot of snow or more that we were going to get...went South ((the direction of the car travelers!)) NICE HUH!!!!!!!!!

What is THIS world coming to?? Have too many Californian's moved here and we don't know how to handle snow?? There was one school here that called a SNOW day for today - again, WE HAD NO SNOW!!!!!!!!!!

GOOD GUD! We need to move!
