I have been waiting on them too. Guess about the only thing for this amature to do is wait until Claudene C. decides to update it. Yes, I am a little impatient as well. Can't wait to see if Darrel Layman will get his 2-3 Grand pass on his dog Twister. One SWEET dog. :D

fowl hunter,

I watched the Purina water test you are describing on Saturday morning.
It was a BEAR.

Most of the dogs required a handle on the 3rd mark which was deep in a pocket of water past high cover. Only saw 1 dog in 15 pick it up clean (front foot).

Buddy was running the blind and 4 resident mallards same across his path. Of course, dog turned for the live game, but he whistled and back casted him off of it. Good Control.

It was a long test due to the marks and 130yard swimming blind. But it is the GRAND.

you said a long test due to marks but werent marks like 45 yard 125 yards and 60 yards?or did you not mean distance but concepts.I saw the pics of the test and some of the water looks like running water on the outside marks.I dont guess it matters how long the marks are because they have got plenty of answers on the test.

We walked in a few hours ago from a weekend there. Had to get home to do some work but hope (and pray) to go back. Our dog is running in Flight D so that's where we've spent our days (Tritronics land test first and Avery water test today).

With little exception, the Grand is running pretty smoothly. Flight A didn't get to run today cause the flight they were moving to didn't finish up but about half their dogs the first day. They are carrying 73 into Series 2.

Flight B ... looks like they completed Series 2 today and are carrying 44 into the third series.

Flight C ... looks like they completed Series 2 are carrying 29 into the 3rd Series.

Flight D ... looks like they completed Series 2 are carrying 40 into the 3rd Series.

If you have any questions as to any specific dogs, I'll be happy to try to help. And I'll try to get a call back report for tomorrow night when they release them. I'm kinda tired so reserve the right to be a little off on my count and recount of the above numbers. In other words, this is an unofficial and completely amateur reporting. LOL!

Here are some photos from Flight D's Day 1 Tritronics test:

I was not able to get any photos from the Avery water test today as there is no gallery area. We just stood at the top of the path and listen to whistles and the rustle of dogs running in water.

I'm not able to officially "report" anything so I can't offer a call back report, but if there's a dog you are interested in knowing about, feel free to PM myself or Steve Hester and we'll try to offer you in/out information.

purina, avery and tri-tronics are HRC national sponsors. if you ever attend an HRC weekend hunt, you'll see that their involvement runs all the way down to the local clubs.

i find it hard to see why this would cause you to roll your eyes.

they have nothing to do with the actual running of the tests. yes, they are advertising, but they more than pay for it, year in and year out.-paul

IT IS GREAT THAT THEY HAVE EXCEPTIONAL SPONSORS, BUT DO THEY REALLY NEED TO ASSOCIATE TESTS AND SERIES WITH A SPONSOR? AND YES I HAVE BEEN TO MORE THAN ONE WEEKEND H.R.C HUNT TEST.

Well considering they provided funding for the tests I'd say yes. Have you watched the Nokia halftime report yet? It comes on right after the Motorola instant replay and has a spotlight feature on the Built Ford tough player of the game.

Sponsorship is exactly that. A company getting advertising for spending their money on an event. Its as age old as any business practice and starts in little league kidsports programs. Why not focus on the actual game and dog participants instead of worrying about a small patch on someones shirt...

Even more simple, I meant it took awhile to run each dog through the test. We were there from 8am to 12 noon and saw (I think) 15 dogs run, so that was approximately 16 minutes per dog.

But the marks were difficult through tall brush and reeds. Obviously if Flight C has the lowest number remaining and they ran the water first, may indicate the difficulty.

Hey Kevin I saw pics of Chocolate dogs.I figured by series 2 it would be all blacks left....
LOL! Actually, fowl hunter, the afternoon photos I took were all very last minute and I was only able to some from the Gallery prior to the last few dogs that ran. I didn't have a lens strong enough to

Claudene's camera drank a cup of coffee with her so I got special permission to leave the gallery area and go down to the holding blind area to get some photos for them to use on the web site. Trust me when I say I was color blind to capturing all I could to help out. ;)
