If I am handling in senior on a blind and my dog sits on the whistle but is slightly turned the wrong way on the sit, can I take a step or two in the direction I want her to turn and then give a back or over cast? Or will the handler taking a step or two be a markdown or worse?

That's just handling, why do you think you would be faulted for it?

It's perfectly acceptable to do that.

When I handle, I frequently walk right or left before I give the command and move my arm....I have always felt that my dogs react better when I move...maybe just me, but it works! Dogs read body actions better than verbal commands...
