I was out training today and noticed when we got home. His left paw is swollen, no cuts or anything. He wimpers everytime I try to look at it. Any ideas.

Toenails

Check the dogs nails. I once had a dog "jamb" an toenail. You could tell because it was more swollen than the rest of the foot. A little rest and a cold pack in the first few hours brought the swelling down and all was okay in a day or two.

bite

Any bite marks buried under the fur?

Try a poltice for a few hours.....
maybe something worked its way into the pad so small you can't see it.
Poltice's can draw out infection and slivers.........

Do an internet search on how to make one...or maybe someone on the list can give you the ingredients.
