Our club uses the Tangelo's for our hunt tests and they're super easy to use and launch without a lot of extra moving parts to fail. I've tried calling them recently and gotten a no named voicemail and their website is down and haven't gotten a response from them even though they were just advertising in the last Retriever News.

Why and can you prove it?
Why- Our club has tangelos and TrainRites. 10/10 times everyone grabs the TrainRites when training or at tests.

This is why I feel they are better:
  • Release with a safety
  • Ground pins standard
  • Toe down release vs kick up (feet stay planted when shooting a flyer)
  • Powder coat finish
  • More adjustments for distance

I do not know what Tangelos sell for. A TrainRite Bird Boy as a manual only model sells for-$480 shipped.

WOW!
That may explain why I've only seen one in the field.

YES Glen,

I know that our club would not consider putting that much into a thrower that takes the abuse of a weekend hunt test. The Tangelo Tosser fills a niche for sure. A functional thrower for a reasonable cost. I really like the Train-Rite and wish we could have 4 at each stake.......but Tangelos and possibly home made wingers are in our future.
