Does anyone have a link to the site that has maps showing the incidence of tick borne disease by states and/or regions? I am trying to find out if it is much of an issue in NM. I forgot to ask the vet when I was last there. Thanks if you have such a link to post. If not, I will just put a call into the vets office tomorrow. Could not find it on a search here.

sullee03, that is very similar to the one I remember. But this particular one had different colors for different diseases. Going by this one, it looks like I don't have to worry about Lymes, but just because of its name, I would like to know the incidence of Rocky Mtn. Spotted Fever. Thanks for posting that!

Thank you Nancy!!! It appears that we are pretty safe if we stay near home or even up into Colorado. I still plan to use some kind of preventive, but I will not worry near so much when the odd tick does show up.

I have 2 pups in Colorado that both had very strange symptoms on young dogs and treated them with doxy and they recovered. One they thought wasn't going to make it and the vet only recommended 5 days on doxy and I pleaded with them to continue it because the symptoms went away. They said they are not supposed to have RMSF but remember those maps are 4 years old and TBD are spreading.
