Wait!!!! .....I located the dog in the first picture after seeing his location in the 2nd.....
Are you saying the dog is infront of the gun on purpose? and you are shooting poppers over his head with the dog in the blast cone?

I hope not.....

Please tell me this is just an optical illusion!

doesn't look like a real gun to me - note that the trigger guard is solid....
You are right. I thought this was an HRC test and the handler was shooting from the bucket and the dog was supposed to mark off the barrel of the gun. Ain't happening in that pic.

Well, even if it is a fake gun and is an AKC test, We are supposed to practice gun safety. This is obviously not safe, fake gun or not.

If the judges wanted to use a remote send, there are other ways of accomplishing that that doesn't represent an unsafe hunting situation.

It is an 84 Lumber "gun" and dog was in front, but off to side. The judges wanted you to point the gun at each bird for whatever reason. The birds were from right to left and the dog was not in play. Other than scrutinizing, I hope you enjoyed the pics.

The pictures were wonderful and the dog is very handsome. I love the way a yellow dog blends in to the dead grass of a field.

I'm sorry if I upset things by taking this off on a tangent, but in our sport, safety should always be in the forefront of our thought process.
