After a summer of draught, we have gotten a deluge of rain in the last 5 days - on the order of over 10".

The test is still on, but the landowner is very concerned. That means the normal, common courtesy things of staying on the roads, parking only in the designated spots, etc. is CRITICAL.

I suspect that if you have to be towed out by one of the ranch hands, they will likely charge you. Actually, we told them to do it....

Just a thought....why not post someone at the main entry to the grounds with a handout informing them of the situation....this in the interest of protecting the use of the grounds FIRST and the goofy folks that'll always find a way to get stuck SECOND.

There was a handout created yesterday. It details the rules of driving on the ranch and parking. There will be zero tolerance for someone who chooses to act in an irresponsible manner.

All in all the grounds are in great shape except for where you shouldn't be anyway.I think everybody will have the chance to have a good time this weekend.

I wanted to give thanks to the club for a lovely weekend. The grounds were in great shape; the Corp of Cadets from A&M were fabulous bird boys. Chris Barnes and his wife had Master A running beautifully. The weather was typically Texas--hot & muggy on Saturday...cold & windy on Sat morning.

Snap & I had not run a hunt test is 8 yrs ( ran 2 SH when she was about 16 months old). I was a nervous wreck. Everyone was supportive and encouraging. I am happy to say that Snap did a good job and I wasnt too much of a liability on the line. Altho she was the oldest dog entered all weekend...she didnt run like an 'old' dog. It is nice when your Golden's best series is the water test ;-)

Thanks B-CS retriever club

It was a really great weekend! Everybody co-operated with our request for responsible driving and parking and the additional rains that were predicted never came, so things flowed a lot smoother than we anticipated. We are so very fortunate to have a great landowner with wonderful grounds.

Thanks to all who entered. We hope everybody enjoyed the weekend as much as those who were working the test. BCSRC is a club full of hard working people. Doesn't matter the job, someone will always step up to volunteer. It is with great pride that we say we are members.

I hope that everybody enjoyed the tests and took either a ribbon or a lesson home.

Shhh.... you're going to make people think that we actually have fun doing "dog stuff" rather than just argue online!

You're being too humble - Snap lined the VERY MEATY water blind.

I think my comment was "this dog just won the trial". ;)

What an honor it was to judge Snap this weekend! I was so glad for Terri that she smacked the test. Finishing up a lifetime with an outstanding performance on a difficult test is really something to remember.

Congratulations, Terri!
