Dennis Bath wrote me to say that the Retriever Field Trial News is now posting its Judges Corner Question on the WRC Bulletin Boards and looking for FT Contestants to offer their responses there.

In addition, the RFTN is also posting Keith Griffith's HT column - What's the Score and soliciting responses to the HT question posted in RFTN there also.

They posted this in RFTN awhile back and i've been waiting to see it. I asked keith about it last month proofreading one of his articles for him. I think its a great idea provided it doesn't turn into a pissing match on the tree...

On the first point, the, Judging Questions
What would make that any different that FT judging questions posted on the RTF?

Topping 8,000 registered users , some must be Field Trial contestants.

RFTN is not associated with RFT and can't moderate the discussion. I wonder how long they would put up with your nonsense?

The difference is that RFTN owns WRC. I assume they are hoping to generate more traffic on their site.

Whatever the reason for posting these two (the Judges Corner and What's the Score), I think it can only benefit the retriever game as a whole -- my hat's off to RFTN for posting these on their Working Retriever site.

Under the RFTN format we readers were invited to send in questions. The questions were then referred to an recognized experienced Judge for an answer, the answer was then published, then limited rebuttals were selected and also published.

Under the WRC version we loose the benefit of of the initial response of the recognized experienced Judge and open the discussion to any and all, including myself  , who care to comment.

IMO This does little to improve their original RFTN effort.

I think generating feedback on WRC from the FT public, without the benefit of a judge's opinion, is a positive move towards interactive communication. And it's good to have more than one forum (RTF and WRC-BB) Each forum has developed its own character, and both serve some purpose. For something. Whatever.

I wish the WRC admin would turn on the BB Codes and the Smilies - wonder why they are off.

None of this matters because the SRS is where it's all at now anyway.

I'm sure you offered your suggestions to the folks at RFTN on how they might improve their response level with the online version of The Judge's Corner....right, John?

Right??? :? ...............................................

You're one of the few people on the planet that I know is perpetually more interested in being part of the problem rather than part of the solution.....

Bump indeed regards,

Why yes I did as a matter of fact. And not because I have any vested interest in their sucess either.

It's can be found in my last post on the first page of this thread .

As to solutions, some people should do a lot less talking and a lot more listening.
