I have a 1 year old BLF with a very thick coat of hair. In the Louisiana heat, she could very easily overheat while training. She gets fired up when she knows it is training time-to the point of being HOT before running any marks or blinds.

I am looking for suggestions and input. Do some cut/thin the hair during the summer? I have never given a dog a "haircut", but I guess it is possible. Would this help? Early morning and late evening session help some, but it's only May.

Picked one up today and tried it on my older lab. It's amazing the amount of hair that it gets out. I will try it on my young lab tomorrow. Thanks for the suggestion.
