At present, both dogs are eating the Eagle Pack Holistic chicken and rice and they are doing absolutely wonderful with it. Coats are good, outside pick up is good, blah blah. One of the main reason for "considering" a change, is the bags cost 68 dollars and only last two dogs two weeks. Don't get me wrong. I think my dogs are worth every penny, and I absolutely love all the ingredients in this food, so I really don't want to give up that list. I do hope there is something out there comparable. I like the fact that there is no wheat or corn or soy in it. I would just like to not have to dish out "quite" so much for the bag. I have to drive 3 hours to purchase the food, but the gas station carries Techni cal dog food, and I picked up a brochure for the Natural Blend....the ingredient list is pretty good. I haven't talked to the woman who looks after the petfood, as this is a gas station ....., so I don't know if she can even get it or how much it will be.

Any suggestions are going to be greatly appreciated.

Since you are in Canada-have you checked out First Mate foods? They have a holistic blend. Have you asked about ordering several bags and getting a discount-or have you tried contacting Eagle and see if they would ship it to you? I feed Canidae-I liked it better than the Eagle Holistic-my dogs have nicer coats now.

Never heard of First Mate Food. We do have a pet store, mostly for birds and fish, and they carry Nutrience dog food, but my older dog didn't do as good with it. I found the pick up outside inconsistant, which made me believe there was something in the food that didn't agree with him. Shipping bags that heavy, would probably cost a fortune, and I don't mind driving out of town to pick up the food, I just want to make sure I am getting something of equal value with out the hi cost. I am wondering if its even possible with out having to take out another mortgage or selling one of the kids........(wait, I like that idea....I wonder what I could get for the kid??? mabey a couple of bags... :lol: )

Eagle is a very good food. Try this place and see if they ship to your location. They say free ground shipping. It's half as much for the food.

I have been feeding Eagle Pack for a while and really like how the dogs look and their energy. I feed power formula, original adult.

Sounds like your trouble is solved thanks to Greg -- if your dogs are doing well on Eagle then I would keep on that -- don't think you'll find Technical is same quality

Well, after a few phone calls, Petstep included, it doesn't look good for cost. Petstep is 67 dollars a bag, and there is only one tax, and they use the postal service, and that is a meer $118.20 for two day delivery $25.85 for a 6 day delivery and $67.96 if you want it in 3 days, AND this is per bag..... I called the number you listed Greg, and they are in the US, so they gave me Canpet Distributors in Concord Ontario, and they don't even deliver this way. She suggested calling the stores that sell it. I made a couple of calls to TBay, and they either stick it onto the bus, or have a ups pick it up, and again, major bucks. I don't mind picking it up myself, I would just like to see it a wee bit cheaper.

Switching foods

We feed Eagle Holistic chicken & rice and Love it for all above said reasons! We pay $37.95 for a large bag but I live in Northeast New England, USA.. try the Eagle people they might be able to help get you a lower price if you buy direct or bulk.. :!:
