Hey Dale.......no idea what a HR title, trial wise means (feel free to explain the tests though :D). Heck only a couple of handful of US people know what Australian trials are like.

Congratulations all the same. Its all fun.

Aussie, HR would be mid-level Hunting Retriever Club similar to AKC senior.

http://www.hrc-ukc.com/

The link should take you to there web page all the rules and what not can be found there.

Test went like this, water series, come to the line and fire a shot. Water blind around 55 yards. 2 whistled 1 left over 1 right over with a come in whistle to get him in line with the bird. Walk about 20 yards sit on a bucket ( why on a bucket I have no clue) Duck call, memory bird left to right go bird right to left about 65 or so yards. Merlin drilled them both. On the way back from the second bird you get a diversion bird which goes over the dogs head and in front but not on top of. Didn't even think of switching. Then on the way out you get a walk up, bird comes out you shot the gun(blanks) dog sets to flush and is steady, pick up bird go next series. We had a little controlled break outside if that he did great.

Land series is a double and a blind. Very short hunt for the go bird drilled the memory bird. 3 whistled the blind.

How is Yank doing?

Dale, thanks so much for the description and the link.

I am planning my next US fix, hopefully to include a few more field trials and AKC hunt tests. Observing a HRC test would be great also.

Yank is going well. We had a little hiccup at his last trial, where he was over the top - self employed - excessive teeth chattering etc but we managed a third place. No more trials for Yank for a couple of months. I do feel he is going to be a big time player in our games.
