What size bumpers do you like to train with.

Walking fetch and pile work etc. 2X12" ?

More advanced work like blinds and marking drills etc 3"x12"?

I am going pick up a couple dozen bumpers and not sure what size to get.

I use only the 2" X 12". I don't have to keep the large ones and the small ones separated that way. Plus more bumpers take up less space. Plus, the dogs really don't care what size they are.

I'm just a relative new comer, training with my first real retriever.....but I ike the 2" dummies for most everything - they're cheaper and I can carry more. (I have a doz of the white Avery hexabumpers) - Many people like the Neuman & Bennett's, also. I do have a couple of 3" bumpers that I use when i need to throw farther or have mouth issues (ie cigarring) that I'm working on. For variety, I also use some Dokken DFT dummies. Given one choice, I'd say use the 2x12" kind.

Most work I used the 2" bumpers. For long marks over 200 yd I use 3" bumpers with streamers.
