I finally drummed up the strength to attempt an answer for Y'all. It's with a great deal of chagrin that I admit this nimble fleet-of-foot athletic body succumbed to falling while sweeping snow off the windshield. Fresh snow had covered some slickernsnot ice, and my left leg went out from under me, and rolled under my falling posterior, and I heard something like a twig snap. X-rays showed it to be the fibula.
Ken will be happy to hear I choose Husker red for the cast. Sorta fitting eh? The thing is already starting to stink. Taking a shower is a real PITA. When I had a full thigh-hi cast on the same leg when I was about 30, I don't recall having that much of a problem with mobility. This getting old really sucks.
Had to call off one hunt test assignment. Hope the cast will be off in time for the after Easter tests.
We are having super training weather, you might know. Temps in the 60's and 70's. Really shrunk up the snow in the ditches...or as we in the Dakotas like to call them..."well groomed snomobile trails." It hurts to know I'll lose the snow goose season. Always looked forward to that hunting session. Mebbe next year.
