I don't know if this is considered "Murphy's Law", bad luck (although I don't believe in luck), or I must have done something really bad and now I am paying for it, literally.

I paid my jeep off after five years, excited, no car payment whatsoever. Since that time, I have had more issue with my jeep than I have ever had. I have had to replace the a/c clutch, the thermostat twice, the catalytic converter is going out, good thing for me I have three of those on one stinking vehicle, and not to mention my O2 sensors could possibly be out, there are only four of those. There are new noises popping up everyday. And my fuel mileage has gone from a regular 20 - 22 on the highway to to a whopping 14 on average. I can contribute part of that to the O2 Sensors and converters. The bad thing is that they can't do a proper diagnostic check because the folks at auto zone cleared the check engine light for me. According to two muffler shops, they say that the top two converters are possibly factor only parts, which means $$$$$$$.

Pray for me......

I've found that vehicles "know" when the warranty has just expired or the last installment payment has been made. They believe, at that time, it is their duty to start nickel and diming you to death, until you finally relent and buy one of their new counterparts!!! :(

(For some reason, my Chevy Silverado hasn't realized that the last payment has been made....Shhhhhhhhhhhh! :) )

Just kinda drives me mad. Just bought my wife a new car, we are proud of that thing and we were glad that we would have a vehicle we can count on, but I hate the fact that my jeep is kicking me in the butt.

Has anyone noticed how hard newer vehicles are to work on.

To remove the radiator drain plug off the jeep I had to take out the entire headlight assembly, including the grill. Just to take the drain plug out. Freaking ridiculous. Had a 90 Ford F150, should have kept it, it was a heck of a lot easier to work on.

You could have both the convertor and o2 sensors bad, but not likely. Don't count on autozone for the diagnostic. They are probably just getting a cat efficiency code. Most likely the true problem whether its 02 or cat is causing false readings for the other.
