It is cool to see these trophies showing up but sad at the same time....you'd think that something as special as this was at one time would have been given to someone who might care.

EXACTLY! That is precisely why I repeately post these links -- in the hopes these trophies wll find their way back into the hands of someone who can and will appreciate them.

I know you do and thank you, Kevin!

I am just a sentimental old fool sometimes....I still have my High School megaphone, I wonder who will appreciate it when I'm gone?

Look, no one's going to bid on this old chessie junk. Why don't you just delete this thread so no one else has to be bothered with seeing it...

Historical Note: Sodak's Rip is the son of SODAK'S GYPSY PRINCE out of CHESACROFT *****, whelped 4/12/1938. Owned by E. K. Ward, Rip was the 5th Chessie FC. Rip's sire SODAK'S GYPSY PRINCE was the first Chessie DC earning that title in 1936.

Joanne is the ACC Historian. It appears that the ACC is trying to purchase them. The trouble is that they don't have much of a fund for purchasing historical items.

HI All

there are several old trophies up for sale on ebay.

http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=130084192765
http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=130084197153

I have emailed the seller and he refuses to work with the ACC on the items.

He feels he is going to make a killing on them. There is also a 3rd
item but I haven't found it.

I can only ask everyone since this seller has an attitude, please DO
NOT BID on the items, pass that along.

Please allow the ACC to purchase them at a reasonable price, all they
will do is drive up the cost and the winner will be the seller not
any of us it will be the seller,

Please pass that message along,

Thanks

Joanne

Not me, I won't be bidding. Old stuff is still just old crap to me unless there is some sentimental value. Whoever mesa5802 is seems to be bidding against him/herself quite a bit? Makes sense to me.

Actually the opening Okie bid was me. Figured I'd show everyone what a high roller I am...once it went past 25 bucks that pretty much wiped out my savings account :)

Hey Achiro, what Mesa5802 is doing with that is bidding against the current maximum bid. When you bid on something on Ebay you put in the maximum amount you're willing to bid up to (you can change it, to, obviously, when you're outbid). Everyone else then has to keep bidding up until they go past your maximum bid.

The last trophy listed is from MFTA I would like it for our clubs history, but I am not bidding. I have an old photo of Sodak Rip and Sue fromthe late 30's with Charles Morgan. The date must be pre-1941 when Shelter Cove Beauty was the high point derby with Morgan was pictured without hair, but in the following he is shown with a full head of hair. The photo was taken near Beardsley, MN.
