I'm trying to get a feel for the interest level in watching the Nationals live.... or at least the last series.

This would be a pay-per-view type of thing to cover the costs associated with doing it. Probably in the $20 range.

If we think enough people will be on board, it will happen.

Thoughts?

I'd do it too for $20 the first time. If it totally sucked it might be awhile before you saw me do it again.

I'd be game, unless I go down to see it live.

Are we talking about the NFC's or the MN Nationals? Probably not on the MN- but if it was the NFC- 20.00 isnt that much-I'd probably pay it- considering I just paid 5.00 on PPV to see a movie I already saw and cried all the way thru both times!
Eight Below---
My neice said she saw it and didnt cry-I guess she has a black heart?!
Old Yeller,Where the Red Fern Grows, Lassie Come Home, and Eight Below- tear jerker regards-

Depends on who's gonna produce it and how it's going to be covered.....

Great idea, but I need more info before I'm gonna fork out $20 to see it live.

Nothing fancy. One high-end camera that would follow the dog on each mark. The quality would be a good as can be expected from streaming video. This would be a joint venture between EE and a company that actually knows about video production. :D

One of the girls that works for me brought me 8 below... It's been sitting here for a week. Trying to find the "right" time to watch it. LOL

I would pay $20. The problem is the camera work. Dog work isn't very camera-friendly and it's hard to tell what the heck is going on. I remember a few years ago I think OLN had the national on and they simply filmed the dog -- close up -- en route to the bird and hunting. So you had no idea if they were in the area, had stayed on line, etc.

I think it would be AWESOME if you could rent a crane (probably a little expensive!!) and hoist someone up and get a wide angle view of the entire field. You wouldn't even really need to see the handler -- although you could cut to it so people could see their style.

What are you thinking as far as a way to get good quality filming LIVE? Versus having multiple camera angles and being able to edit later on? Live would be great. I just don't know how easy it would be to provide "us" with something where we could really SEE what's going on.

Well, YBS Media did a nice job of showing dog work on Dave Rorem's Handling DVD. Also, I don't know who did Andy Attar's Transition Level Handling DVD, but it was neat how they did two cameras. One was more of a wide angel shot, the other was a close-up of the dog so they could do a split screen. I imagine that would be too much information to stream though.

I voted yes. I've blown $20.00 on things much less worth while. Question: will there be anyone commentating? For those of us who don't know the handlers and dogs by sight it would make it much better than reading it off a list.

Hey $20.00. No problem. I get my training group to pay $4.00 each x 8 thats $32.00. Tell them I can offer it this cheap if they bring beer. Anyone who wants to bring meat can use the grill and some chips and dip would be nice. In the end I get a great view of the National, free dinner and beer and make $12.00.

Who says I didn't learn anything from my pro trainer.
