in the market for a pup again and have a much better idea of what I want. what stud, yellow or yellow factored has what I'm lookin for. I see the titles on the dogs but i honestly know nothing about them or how long it took to get the title. I have heard that tiger would fill these shoes?

Temperment
high energy OK - hyper or very exciteable not ok
MUST have off switch in the house
easy keeper
friendly to other people and dogs
biddable

retrieving
runs blinds as hard as marks ( just loves to retrieve)
natural soft mouth
returns almost as fast as he goes out (naturally. not from drills)
team player
not vocal
not super hot as i am amature (very amature)
good nose ( want to do more upland than I do now)

physical
YELLOW or throws YELLOW
med size @ 70lbs
doesnt have to be big blocky head but I dont like the mousy look. Don't care much for the tight lipped ones either so hes gotta have some good jowels.

Obviously all the health certs. Yes i know pick the pedigree not the color.
but my plans are for a pet that hunts and will play the games for fun.
Thanks for any ideas.

I really like FC My Name is Bocephus (FC-AFC Ford x FC-AFC JB's So Rude). If there's a better looking, competitive field trial dog with a nicer temperament around people and other dogs, it would be news to me.

He was a National finalist and has quite a few all age points as a 4 year old. He's linebred, so he's more likely to throw the traits that he and his ancestors possess. He's also yellow factored and goes about 85 pounds.

You explained almost to a point a breeding that should take place this weekend between my (FC AFC Candlewoods Court Jester X FC AFC CFC Murphy Isn't Brown She's Black) bitch (Lucky), to FC Cosmo's Concerto Charlie. Let me know if you have any questions about this breeding.

You just described the PERFECT lab (LOL).

I own one of Mike Peters-Labguy23 pups out of FC/AFC Crow River's Cougar's Mad Max that is really nice. The nicest companion of all of the dogs that I have owned over the last 17 years of training/hunting/testing dogs. Definately the SMARTEST!!!

His father "Max" is yellow.

Charles C. I think you are right on. I just got My Bo Puppy a few weeks ago from White Oak and I really love this puppy. Shows all the things in whichwas described. I have hopes for her. It was all black litter but 4 of the 5 females were yellow factored.

Yea, guess i did!

Thats the whole thing about breeding I quess. I just know my dog wanted nothing except retrieving. he does go out and come back at the same full bore speed. his blinds are the same. I love that. BUT he is hyper, hates laying around the house, and at times he gets so excited its like hes lost his mind. I hate those traits. during training I will correct him, he will stop doing the bad thing but then it gets strange. Basic Example say he breaks, I give a No-sit. he starts backin up. I say Heel. then hes sitting behind me. no heel- then hes right in front of me etc. hes trying to do right but cant get the marbles in 1 bag. drives me nuts.

I like Bo -- nice pedigree -- good looking too -- that'd be my choice
