If somebody is up to date on the current rules and regulations as far as hunt test judges, I would appreciate some input. I have emailed AKC but am still waiting for a reply.

Judge X is an 8 point Master judge. Last seminar was in 2002 and last judging assignment was in 2000. What must Judge X do to be able to judge in 2007?

Thank you.

At minimum, I believe they would have to attend the AKC HT judges seminar.

I have copied this from the rule book and this is where I get confused.

Judges who have either acquired 6 or more points at
the Master level of judging or who have attended two
or more Seminars are exempt from any further
Seminar attendance. However, continued eligibility to
judge will be based on the satisfactory completion of a
written, self-administered examination every four
years, prepared and monitored by the AKC. Individuals
must judge at least once within four years to maintain
eligibility to be approved to judge.
A score of 95% or better is required for the self-admin-
istered test.

Since Judge X is/was an 8 pt judge I am assuming they need to take the test. But the judging once every 4 years - is that after taking the test or any time??

So confused regards,

Andy

I heard back from AKC - both a customer service rep and Jerry Mann and they both had the same answer - a seminar. Judge X has been under the belief that all they would have to do is take the test since they are an 8 pt Master judge - I thought there was more to it than that but wanted to hear it from the horse's mouth so things could proceed accordingly.

Thanks for everybody's input - we had some correct answers here too!! :D
