I have a bitch that just doesn't produce a lot of milk. Ten puppies and bottle feeding as a supplement. Started off at 1/2 ounce 6 times daily. Now the pups are 18 days old and drinking 4 ounces, 3 times daily in addition to whatever they are getting from mom. They are all around 3 pounds now. They were all right at 15 ounces to 1 pound at birth. I'm thinking about replacing the middle feeding with gruel. (Puppy food, water and formula blended together) I did that yesterday and the 10 of them finished off 32 ounces of guel (2 cups puppy food, water and formula) in about 10 minutes. Anyone start gruel this early?

I usually Start around 3-3 1/2 weeks. Really wet down to consistency of mommas milk. Then gradually less water. If pups stool gets soft I cut water quicker. Pups showing interest in mommas food is a pretty good indicator ;)
