Just wondering at what point people considered a dog as being trained by a pro. I assume most have had at least a small amount of help from a pro along the way. Is it when a dog stays at a pro's facility for some period of time, runs on his/her truck? What about the Am. that takes his/her dog to a Pro for training sessions, but the dog doesn't stay with the pro? What if the pro does basics, or just FF or swim-by or some specific task?

I'm using a pro to train my pup through basics, FF, CC, and transition work -- also planning sending him down dor next winter -- pup has been with pro almost 2 months and will be with for at least another 3-4 months before coming home for a couple of months prior to going south -- but main point in using pro is to also get myself "trained" so I can further his training later on my own as well as handle myself at trials -- I'm also too busy at work to get out and train with a group (especially since only group I had been training with were out Wednesdays - when I work - and Sundays which has since ended because of summer trials and/or cottaging) -- just didn't have time or expertise to properly train my pup -- and I'm in a position to pay a pro for this important period of time -- but don't see having my dog on a pro's truck full-time -- however wouldn't hesitate to go back to pro whenever needed help (will be following his program)
