I'm about to get a puppy in August and I was wondering how do people train during the winter. Do you do little training or just do the stuff you would do in the summer. Do I go hard on training and train everyday or do I just take it easy and do it every other day.

Thanks

It all depends on climate. Us northern folk can't train in the winter cause we run the risk of torn ACLs etc due to snow. Otherwise we would train all year round!

In NC you'll be able to train most all winter. You might miss a day or two now and then 'cause of ice storms or something. I does get cold enough to be concerned about water temps. Don't put him in in water temps below 50 and don't do very many if the water temps are below 55. Water temps of 60 or so are better.

I spent a winter in Camp LeJeune and I doubt I would have had to miss a single day of land training that winter. I think we had two days of snow that accumulated on the ground and that was gone the next day.
