Are there any strong arguments why one would choose one over the other for dog kennels? When I say wire mesh I mean stuff like the good Behlen kennels are made of.

I prefer wire mesh (the type made up of thin steel rods welded together to make mesh). It can be attached to the frame more securely and the dogs don't have a chance to chew it.

I had a habitual escapee who would chew on chainlink until it or the ties holding it to the frame broke and she could get out.

Regards, Jason.

mesh

We use 9 Guage chainlink streached tight with a three pronged streacher. It Costs about 190.00 for a 50 ft roll.I weld the frame out of 1.5 inch aluminum square tubing with 1" bars all across the front.I found that any kennel made with 11.5 guage wire is vulnerable to the dogs working on it....and getting out.Good luck
