Last nights episode where Phil shows how to gut and clean a duck in his grandkids school class was classic.

Si's dove retrieving poodle episode had me rolling.

Dynasty is funnier than ever this year.

The family really enjoys DD. They replay the previous weeks two episodes starting an hour before the current weeks so if you miss them, you can catch them. I've been getting their Duck Commander and Buck Commander DVDs for almost 5 years now and always thought they were a very entertaining group. Uncle Si is hilarious!!! Did anyone see them on Jimmy Kimmel last week? Here is a link with video clips from the show and the mock commercial they did on behalf of Morrisey canceling his musical appearance because of the DD crew. Too funny.

The poodle was in continental clip, that is how they are shown in the breed ring.

My daughter has poodles and I have judged them in NAHRA. A good poodle is a good hunting dog. And, if you run across a standard with a little attitude you not think it is a foo-foo dog.

I didn't start watching until last last season, now everyone in my whole family watches it. My wife thinks its hilarious and all she seems to watch is food network or HGTV.
Good humor without swearing and sexual content. Not much to watch in the evenings with a 9 year old daughter, and the 16 & 18 year old boys like it also.

I like the show.

Here is my take:

The show is not targeted to us. It is targeted to the non-hunting, city dwelling 90% of the rest of the North American population.
If you want a duck hunting show go watch one. But other than the 2 min of dog work your lucky to see it is like watching paint dry IMO....they are all the same.
Yes, DD is over the top, yes it is staged, but it makes for good TV, that again IMO the whole family can watch together. It brings big than life characters who are living the red-neck dream to life in the homes of the city slickers. I would also say it does a lot to help convince those same people, the 99% of them who really have no opinion on hunting either way to lean our way. The Anti's will be anti's and there is generally no changing their mind. It's the silent majority you you need to convince. I think this show helps with that.

I was just reading that the premier episode of the third season drew more viewers than American Idol and is by far the top rated show on A & E as well as th top rated show on cable. Not bad for a couple of Loosiana ********.

Phil, Willie, Jase or Uncle Si are getting a minimum 30k for 3 hour appearences at outdoor shows so, don't expect to see them at the one near you. That 30k doesn't include first class travel and accomodations. Last year, they were 3.5k for 4 hours!

They are huge and good for them. Kids love the show and that is who the network is targeting with DD. The show is attracting the kids and the parents too which is a double win for A & E Channel.

normally at the macks fall fest there is some celebrity there signing autographs but last year it was uncle si. i guess they couldnt afford the whole crew or phil/willie by themselves. from what i understan si was kind of mean about the whole thing. no photos with him or anything

i just attributed it to grouchy old man wrong side of the bed type a deal. or macks not pimping there products like everyone else. ive met the rest at church speakings and they are usually real down to earth.

M&K it does not show duck hunters in a bad way ! Only duck hunters can make themselves look bad. It beats the hell out watching "double banded crew" or some of the other "Duck Hunting" shows.! For me , probably because of my generation, I can't stand the hard rock background music that is common on most of the hunting shows. I mean what the hell is that all about. No background music is necesary if you have ducks falling and guns going off! But to each his own.

We love this show, I started growing a beard, It's looks like Si now, but not as long yet. The wife is not a fan of my beard, but, it is the style now. I will be letting it grow out long, and think it should be required for all duck hunters carrying a man card.

Yoga class, nah. Lions eatin Hyenas, Yep.

Fear the beard...

The dog Si bought is actually Louter Creek Kennels dog UH HRCH MHR Southern Standards Red Creole MH, as you can see he has all the hunt test titles you could ask for. Louter Creek actually trains all the dogs on the show. So Si didn't actually buy him, he used him for the show. And yes, he had a special "Doo" for the show just to be funny. I mean, just look at those Balls on his feet.

Got to hear Willie speak today at Wildfire Weekend at Liberty University. Great testimony and message! I have a huge amount of respect for the Robertson Family, and what they are doing. Duck hunters have known them for a long time, but they are getting to share the Gospel with a large and diverse audience through DD! Refreshing change compared to most of TV these days.
