After charging all BB launchers and transmitters, you reload gear into truck.
Drive 1 hour to training site and set out launchers, cock them, and flip the switch to "on".
Then realize you left the transmitter at home.:(

Run blinds, regards

Angie has heard this story before about a month or two ago.

-Driving an hour and 10min to an 8a.m training day only to begin running out of gas on the way out there at around the hour mark of the trip......................only to pull into the gas station and realize that I had also forgot my wallet at home and couldnt buy more gas:eek:

i had about 2$ in change to buy gas with and driving a truck that only gets 14mpg and my gas meter telling me I had 30 miles left in my tank... the wife was still asleep and didnt hear the phone ring to tell her I had safely made it about half way home and was parked at the gas station begging (unsuccesfully) for a couple of dollars from passers by. It was a long morning.

My dog was riding in the front seat with me..........obviously judging me:cool:

Forget the oars to the rowboat on opening morning .Go back , get 'em , and row thru buddies spread on way to my blind .At shooting time .Good thing they didn't have a dog and my dog got one of their cripples for them .
Still blame it on my partner regards .

I heard last Sunday that you are totally "owned".. No excuses or apologies needed... Just a seat with the weekly therapy group.....

Grant,,, get your big A&M ass to training!!! *sheesh* ;-)

The list of excuses is a long one...

Depending on your information source they may or may not be the pot calling the kettle names:cool: If its Mr. Mccord I dont want to hear it cause I had to run a sales campaign to get him back in the game and back training again:cool:

How could this not have been my first thought? Not exactly training equipment realted but........ Coming home from a hunt test Sunday night a couple of weeks ago. Phoned my "significant other" when I was about a hour away. After telling me how much she had missed me and how glad she would be when I got there, I suggested that she be waiting on me with nothing on but a smile. I rushed home. Parked the truck and let the two dogs out to air. I rushed them up with anticipation of what I hoped was waiting in the house. My significant other had put food in the pens, fresh water and left the flood lights on to make putting them up that much quicker. The flood lights is where the problem comes in. As I hurried to the kennels to put the dogs up, I walked under one of the lights that had attracted a swarm of bugs. You guessed it. One flies right in my left ear, all the way to the eardrum. He's not backing out and sounds like a 747 buzzing around in there. So here I go tearing in the house and not for the anticipated reasons. I go flying in the candle lite bedroom and there she was with little more on than a smile and me with a jet fighter buzzing around in my left ear. Needless to say, the mood took an unexpected hit for a few minutes. After her unsuccessful attempts at removing the critter from my ear and it's continous crawling and buzzing, she drowned the rascal with alcohol but couldn't wash it out. A trip to the doctor the next morning was required to remove the critter.

setting up a triple with three bumper boys and hitting the first two launchers with clear launches and then realizing that you forgot to cock the "go bird" launcher?

doing it again after the reload about ten minutes later.:mad: doh!!
How about testing your bumper boys on the tailgate of the truck knowing that you NEVER leave them cocked, then sending one of the bumpers through the back window of your truck cap.

Don-I have a hole in the garage wall that happened when I was being told how to use a newly acquired 4 shooter. The beautiful lady(referenced it the above post) giving me instructions forgot to remind me not to cock it before moving the trigger back and forth to see how it operated. Lucky it didn't hit me somewhere else.

Yes Don it is a wonder that you are still alive to tell these tales.

Yeah, like in Christmas Story, "You'll shoot your eye out."

I have entered more than one test that it would have been just as well if I had left the dog to home.
Outcome would have been the same and the judges would have had 15 minutes of time back to work with.:(

A couple of years ago i had received permission to train on some property, I had a nice triple that I had set up to run as singles. My old choc dog was coming back with the long mark up the middle and I was impressed with the dust he was kicking up on the return. I thought to myself the old man still got the drive. But, as the dog got closer I couldn't take my eyes off of the dust that was still rising from a 100 yards behind him. I grabbed the binoculars and to my horror saw the flames. Loaded dog raced to the fire, grabbed bumper boy, burned hand, tossed bumper boy which ignited a second fire.

Tried stomping it out, didn't work, running to the pond with a igloo cooler didn't work, driving over the burning grass with the truck didn't work. Finally called 911. It took the volunteer fire department 30 min, to find it, and an hour to put it out. 5 acres were burned.

Got up the courage to call the land owner and he got upset that I put the fire out. He said I could have saved him a bunch of mowing!

Starting to get wingers out of the truck and realizing that all the brains are still at home on the charger. Talk about leaving your "brains" at the house. But they were well charged for the next session. Sunday morning, I told my "significant other" to turn the collar on and put in the dog I was getting ready to run. Needed a burn and nothing. Caught my tounge before saying anything. Checked the collar when he got back to the line and, yes, it was on. Not working properly but on. This was just after crumpling a hinge on my mini "Z". Good to not have verbalized the thought.
So, as I'm killing some time, and just looking through some old threads, I come across this. As the "significant other" mentioned in this post, I have to ask - Honey, just exactly what thought was it that you are glad you didn't verbalize??? Surely you couldn't have thought that I didn't turn the collar on, right?

Uh huh. So, now the truth comes out. Back then you said, no, sweetheart, it's not your fault. Now I see how it REALLY is.

I was busy with work when all this posting went on. You can bet we'll have a conversation about THIS at home tonight!!!

Driving over an hour in the darkness of early morning to go duck hunting then, once at the place, realizing I had left my gun at home. (I remembered my waders, dog, shells, and decoys though.) :-?
