Went out for some wood duck yesterday. Had a very nice day, used a 1950 Browning Sweet 16 for the first time, using Nice Shot. Dog did good work and a surprise to boot. See for yourself, take a good hard look at the ducks left leg in the last pic.

Beautiful pictures!

Is that a Poly choke on your gun? Great pictures.

Did you hunt your dog out of your boat? It looks like a Poke boat.

Congrats on the band, Is that what fall looks like in your pics? Down here in Louisiana everything is still green, it's still hot and muggy but it's supposed to drop down in the low 40's this weekend (almost cold for us). I do have to say that you guys with your early season hunting pics are killing me. I'm ready for the season to start already. Oh and don't forget to send some birds south!

Gorgeous pictures!!! Congrats on the band! Agree with "ateupwithquack"; we're still battling mosquitoes and heat here in NW Louisiana (where in NW LA are you located, quack?).
My husband has been blowing his caller in the house for a month now...come on duck season!!!!

Those pics looks like they belong in a Gray's Sporting Journal.

I'm in the Lake Charles Area, Southwest Louisiana. I'm loving this little cold snap that came through today. Should be nice and chilly this weekend.

Ok the choke on the gun is a Poly choke. It does decrease the "value" of the gun, but for hunting I REALLY like it. Birds working close use IC, not so much push up to Mod or Imp Mod, without having to unscrew anything. Takes 2 seconds. I understand Poly Choke is now making a Poly-choke for screw in choke tube guns. I may have to look into that.
Boat is a Poke Boat made just south of here in Berea, KY (www.pokeboat.com) it is very light, 32#s, can carry 500 pounds and is stable enough to recover the dog in deep water, with no concern. But we do practice in warm weather just to be sure!

I really liked the Sweet 16. This one has really nice wood that I hope to get re-finished someday, but has me looking for another is lesser shape that I can coat with Duracoat and make a camoed, protected hunting gun. I reload for 16 otherwise it is way too expensive to shoot.

Great pics and congrats on the woodies nice looking pup

I have the same Pokeboat. It's nice, isn't it?

Ever read HUNTING THE LONG TAILED BIRD? Polychoked gun was the author's favorite gun, pheasant gun that is.
