Winter Marking drills?

Well im in about 3ft of snow at this point, but have access to plowed lots and plenty of golf course land.
We are working on FTP but wondering if there are any marking drills we can work on as well, just to mix it up and keep it fun and enjoyable for him.

About the only thing I don't do in the winter is open water work. Guess living in Alaska gives you a different prospective on winter. Blinds can be real fun in 2 feet of soft powder snow. Duckdon

Any drill you can do on land ...singles are never a bad idea...a handler thrown off of a single will aid in teaching the dog mechanics and starting to build memory..Steve S

LIve in Wisconsin and know plenty on winter work. use a snow blower or plow and make a long "t". put out bumpers and do line drills and hand signals on the three points. by spring your dog will be the straightest dog in the state. the banked areas doesn't let him cheat! Your whistling skills to stop on the center will be the challenge..lol. also, scent up a frisbee... yes frisbee for some fun. launch that out in the snow and the dog will learn to run to the spot and use its nose if its young. just some ideas.

Never used a Frisbie but we do the same thing with tennis balls and bumpers. Tossed in deep soft snow the dog will learn to dig his was down and get the target. Can get them to dig out of sight under the fluff. Fun and good for heavy cover training as they need to be persistant and use their nose. Another +, they work hard getting through the deep snow so they sleep good at night. Duckdon
